Our Mission

Our History

In 1969 Harris and Nancy Davis formed the company (incorporated as N&H Enterprises, Inc. in 1970) as a developer and builder of residential subdivisions. Over a period of more than 45 years, the Company has evolved to include many facets of real estate development and property management. For example, in 1981 the company began managing affordable apartment communities for the elderly in South Carolina. Since that time our reach has grown to include managing other types of affordable housing in South Carolina, as well as conventional/market rate multi-family properties in the southeast and homeowners associations in Upstate South Carolina. We provide service coordination services across the country.
Davis family members involved with NHE now include Harris and Nancy, as well as three of their children: Taylor is President, Dorothy is VP of Service Coordination and Clifton is IT Manager.

Our Executive Team

Harris Davis

Harris Davis is Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of NHE, Inc., with responsibility for strategic planning and general support of various Business Units as requested. Harris and his wife Nancy Davis founded NHE (formerly N&H Enterprises, Inc.) in 1969.

In his current role, Harris focuses on strategic planning, new alliances and industry involvement.

A leader in the Affordable housing industry, Harris was honoured to be selected President of the Southeastern Affordable Housing Management Association (SAHMA) for 1993 and 1994. For his years of service to the industry, Harris was awarded Emeritus Membership and was recognized by the National Affordable Housing Management Association Statesman of the Year.

Harris attended the Citadel.

Harris is actively involved in his church, First Baptist Church of Orangeburg, along with several other community activities.

Harris lives in Orangeburg, SC with his wife and business partner, Nancy Davis. You will find Harris, when he is not working, reading, enjoying his yard and traveling.

Taylor Davis

Taylor Davis is the President at NHE, Inc., with responsibility for leading the Executive Team and NHE’s five Business Units: Affordable Property Management, Conventional Property Management, Association Management, Service Coordination and Development.

At the age of 13, Taylor spent his summers and many weekends working on-site at elderly communities as part of his family’s business, NHE, Inc. He began working full-time for NHE in 1995, and since that time Taylor has held numerous positions with the Company such as Community Manager, Regional Property Manager, Comptroller, Vice President of Operations, and now President.

In his current role, Taylor leads a team of 175 employees to focus on business objectives, develop strategic partnerships, establish standard setting initiatives and create a stable business environment for NHE and the properties it manages.

NHE’s roots are in the Affordable Property Management area. Taylor led the Company to start the Association Management Business Unit in 1998, the Conventional Property Management Business Unit in 2001, and the Service Coordination Business Unit in 2007.

Taylor is also a partner in several real estate ventures and development entities, including Graycliff Capital Partners. He has expertise in acquiring and disposing of assets, tax-credit financing and other development and financing activities.

Taylor earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina.

Taylor is a member of First Baptist Church Greenville and is currently Chair of the Property Committee. He previously served on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of CommunityWorks Carolina.

Taylor lives in Greenville, South Carolina with his wife Lisa and their two sons. When not working, Taylor likes to travel and listen to live music.

Rebecca Thompson

Rebecca Thompson is Vice President of Association Management at NHE, Inc. with responsibility for leading the Association Management Business Unit.

Rebecca brings over 20 years’ experience in property and asset management. Prior to joining NHE, Rebecca worked for Equity Residential and Mid-America Apartment Communities and managed conventional apartment communities.  She joined NHE in 2007 as an Association Manager. She was promoted to Senior Association Manager in 2012 and to Vice President in 2014.  Rebecca and her team serve nearly 60 single-family, condominium and town home communities.

Rebecca has been an integral part of crafting NHE’s special brand of small company accessibility with big company precision, setting it apart from other association management companies.  Believing that NHE is and should continue to be a benchmark in the industry, Rebecca would like to take the Company’s highly visible hands-on approach in property and assets management to benefit even more communities in the Upstate.

Rebecca is an active member of the Community Association Institute, gaining the designations of Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and Association Management Specialist (AMS). Rebecca is currently working toward a Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation, the top national association management credential.

Though Rebecca maintains active involvement in local community service organizations, her life mainly revolves around her energetic family in Easley, where she lives with her husband, Richard and children Victoria, Hope, Hayley and Abigail.

Patricia Sherman

Patricia Sherman is Vice President of Affordable Property Management at NHE, Inc. with responsibility for leading the Affordable Property Management Business Unit.

Prior to joining NHE, Inc. in 2001, Patty worked in senior level positions for SHMI/EHDOC, a nationally recognized Affordable Housing Property Management Company. Notable is her three years as Director of Supportive Services and Regional Property Manager where she was responsible for a portfolio located in the Northeastern part of Unites States. During her tenure there she improved financial stability, marketing and maintenance of the properties, while also directing Service Coordinators throughout the US to help residents maintain independent living longer. She was able to renew grants, extend programs and, when necessary, get operational funds increased to add Service Coordinator Programs at managed properties.

In her current role at NHE, Patty leads a team of over 60 employees. She and her team focus on enhancing the quality of lives of persons with disabilities and chronic mental illness, seniors and families by maintaining properties at the highest standards. Throughout her many years with NHE, she has played a key role in the successful growth of the Company. Patty is an expert in the Yardi enterprise software system NHE uses and often leads implementation of system enhancements and upgrades. She has a track record for maintaining long term relationships with property owners, residents, industry and regulatory partners alike. She has extensive experience in turning around distressed properties. Improving REAC Physical Inspection and Management Review Scores are natural for her and her team. She and her team prepare operational and capital budgets, implement budget reductions, write business plans, obtain rent increases, prepare and analyse rent comparability studies and create Reserve for Replacement Plans. She has a strong knowledge of the HUD Secure Online System and has been a resource for others outside the Company in using it.

Patty gained her Bachelors of Arts degree at University of South Carolina in Aiken with a major in Sociology. In 2012 Patty was honoured with State Meeting Coordinator of the Year Award by SAHMA.

Patty lives in Lexington, SC with her husband Kent and their two children. When not working, Patty likes to spend time with her family and watch her oldest son play soccer.

Dorothy Davis

Dorothy Davis is Vice President of Service Coordination. Her responsibilities include leading business development and operations for NHE’s Service Coordinator Business Unit.

Prior to joining NHE in 2007, Dorothy was Vice President with Continuum Healthcare which focused on home health and community based clinics in their key markets around the United States including Georgia, Florida and Texas. She has written over $20 million in Federal grants. She has executed several business development initiatives focused on healthcare and housing. Under Dorothy’s leadership, the division grew an idea of serving an unmet need in healthcare and housing, into a business unit netting a 10% profit in two years. One of her greatest successes was launching an innovative partnership with Tenet Health System in 2001 that created a new successful business model by repositioning an acute care hospital to serve the community around its primary acquisition.

In her current role, Dorothy leads a team of over 50 employees with the mission of helping low income senior and disabled residents to age in place. Her scope includes working with boards, owners and developers in creating service options for residents and families. She and her team focus on NHE’s Service Coordinator Business Unit’s brand promise of investing in meaningful relationships and delivering meaningful outcomes. Dorothy has strong knowledge of HUD policy and how to implement services within affordable properties including tax credits properties.

For the past 15 years, Dorothy has spoken extensively around the country to housing associations and other relevant trade associations on the topic of successful models of care in housing.

Under Dorothy’s leadership, the Service Coordination Business Unit has received many distinguished honors, including the first SAHMA Excellence in Service Coordinator Award, the 2014 American Association of Service Coordinators (AASC) Elderly & Disabled Service Coordinator of the Year Award and the 2014 AASC Video Contest First Place Award Winner.

Dorothy earned a Masters of Developmental Psychology degree from Vanderbilt. Since 1997 she has been licensed in Georgia as a Licensed Professional Counselor.

She is currently serving terms on the Leading Age and Georgia Healthcare Association Boards. Additionally, Dorothy serves on the Advisory Committee of Amerigroup focused on managed care products for low-income and disabled individuals.

Dorothy is married and lives in Atlanta with her three children. When not working, she likes to travel, read, cook, and spend time with family.

Ed "Blake" Blakemore

Ed (Blake) Blakemore, Jr. is the Chief Financial Officer at NHE and is responsible for overseeing all finance, accounting, HR, IT, and legal functions for the company.

Blakemore brings more than 30 years of financial leadership to the company, including CFO and COO roles in companies with real estate investment, property development & management, and construction lending disciplines. Blakemore comes to NHE from Serrus Capital Partners where he was CFO and Senior Vice President of Operations.

Blakemore is a 1985 graduate of Wofford College and holds a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance degree. He is or has been licensed in the state of South Carolina as a Property Manager, Realtor and Home Builder.

Blake’s life revolves around his family in Travelers Rest, SC and his wife Robin, daughters Kellianne and Lauren and son-in-law Jamey.

Kelli Spencer

Kelli Spencer is the Vice President of Conventional Property Management with NHE, Inc. with responsibility for leading the Conventional Property Management Business Unit.

Kelli brings to NHE over 16 years of Conventional Property Management experience. Prior to joining NHE, Inc. Kelli worked for U.S. Residential Group and Eos Real Estate Group as a Regional Director.

Seven years of Mrs. Spencer’s career was with Eos Real Estate Management Group, as the Regional Director. Kelli was pivotal in the creation of Eos’ policies and procedures as she was their first Regional Director. In this role she was responsible for executing business plans, monthly financial statements, budgets, pricing, marketing, staffing, training and supervision of the entire portfolio. Kelli managed all areas of each acquisition from hiring of the staff to converting the property database. Notably she has managed 17 acquisitions, with over 125 Employees, spanning from Texas to the Carolinas.
Kelli attended The Ohio State University and is a devoted Buckeye Fan.

Kelli lives in Simpsonville, SC with her husband Ryan and their 4 children. When not working, Kelli likes to spend time with her family camping.
